Dragonfly™
Dragonfly applies Pterofin's oscillating-wing technology to wind energy — using the same reciprocating-motion principle behind Skimmer and Manta to convert moving air, rather than moving water, into mechanical power.
Dragonfly is currently in early prototype testing. Development so far has focused on wind-tunnel trials of the wing and drivetrain assembly, with ongoing work to refine the generator connection and measure output. As with Pterofin's hydrokinetic products, Dragonfly is designed to yield under excessive load rather than resist it.

Note, in this next video we only had a few hours to test our prototype at the wind tunnel and we didn't figure out until a few days later, that when we taped down the wires to the three-phase permanent magnet generator, we were locking up the axle because of its built-in overspeed protection. The generator is directly connected to the flywheel, which is why it wasn't exactly flying... We figured that once we get it working smoothly then we'll measure it's power, but the illusive mechanical issue was never solved and we ran out of time.
